Each term, we invite students from across the region to take part in our Student Research Lab. Accompanying this program, we host a “career mentor showcase” to help our youth explore a variety of career futures. In keeping with our mission, we would like our youth to hear from two kinds of career mentors: (1) mentors who use research everyday as part of their job or (2) mentors who work directly with youth in a youth-serving community organization. The total commitment is 30 minutes, comprising 15-20 minutes of speaking/presentation time followed by a Q&A. We ask that our mentors talk about their career, either focusing on (1) how they use research, data, and evidence every day or (2) how they work with youth.
